Bit & Pieces (#3) -- Trump will have Nazis in the streets; the NY Times assumes its readers are ignoramuses.
First this:
Whatever you do, don’t vote for Trump because we will then have Nazis in the streets.
You’ve been warned by none other than Hillary herself (“Putin does what he would like to do — kill his opposition, imprison his opposition, drive, you know, journalists and others into exile, rule without any check or balance — that’s what Trump really wants.”)
Now Consider these two photographs. No further comment is necessary.
Now this:
The New York Times compensates for the limited knowledge of the “elites” to whom it caters.
The New York Times has acknowledged that it recognizes the limited horizons of its bubble dwelling readership especially when it comes to matters relating to the military.
The Times published an article today about the war in Ukraine. But The Times knows that its supposedly “elite” readership is so ignorant about military matters that it deems it necessary to school its readers on what artillery is: “The war has often revolved around artillery, which are large guns that armies use to fire explosive shells and hit targets from a great distance.”
Who knew that artillery are “large guns,” or that unlike the cannon employed the USS Constitution and other sailing ships in the War of 1812, that they fire “explosive shells”? Wow!
The byline to The Times’ article shows that it was written by German Lopez. This is the same German Lopez whose simplistic approach I discussed previously in my March 29 article, “Putting Lipstick on the Pig.” Given Lopez’s apparent limited experience, he may have presumed that ignorant readers require the same type of explanation that he needed. But to give him his due, Lopez shares this need to explain the obvious at a grade school level with our Vice President. Remember her response to the question of “What’s going on in Ukraine?”: Kamala: “Ukraine is a country in Europe. It exists next to another country called Russia. Russia is a bigger country. Russia decided to invade a smaller country called Ukraine so basically that’s wrong.” [insert]
The Times – and the Country – are in the hands of the best of our “elites.”
The real historical nazis at least look clean & squared away. Today's nazis look weak.
Wimpy nazis, a couple of IDF chicks & they'd either run away or fall down crying.
"Who knew that artillery are “large guns,” or that unlike the cannon employed the USS Constitution and other sailing ships in the War of 1812, that they fire “explosive shells”? Wow!" I laughed out loud. Salute!
