Heart of Darkness is my favorite novella. As you know, having read it yourself, it has nothing to do with the "darkness" progressive wussies are crying about due to the recent revival of American exceptionalism.

Thank you John, very good timing for me on this one. It's difficult to keep clear that these people are a relatively small and declining minority, and that the majority of Americans are still optimistic and open.

A story from my LinkedIn adventures to illustrate. Last Tuesday, I think, the Editor in Chief of the Economist posted about an analysis his staff had done on Trump policies. Because of his tariffs and deportations, and 'chaotic' style, he had imposed a 'MAGA tax' on the economy that was slowing growth. The Editor had a description of their calculations, etc., but it was obvious from the git-go that this was just Ivy League anti-Trump propaganda.

I posted one of the first comments and said that my interpretation of their study was that Trump had fulfilled all of his most important campaign promises and had successfully reignited growth, even though some of the policies were counter-indicative; and that this was quite a surprising conclusion from the Economist.

My comment got a lot of reaction, most of it positive. A number of people saying Good Job, and others trying to pick apart the sub-conclusions.

Then this morning, almost a week later, there is a comment to my comment that I am one of the people destroying America, that I won't address Trump running concentration camps for illegals, that the President is a known pedophile and rapist anyway, and additional TDS.

I felt like I had just been assaulted by a homeless meth-freak on the streets of DC, who wanted to tell me the lizard people were taking over. Which has also happened. This truly is a psychosis. These people are unwell, and we can only hope they get some care and can break out of the psychic hell they are mired in.

My point is we can't let these people completely shade our view of reality. Things are improving, the situation is brightening for millions of people, and we need to keep the psychos at mental arms-length.

Cheers,
