Exactly so. For me, it's the border, DOGE, and the Constitution, which is all to say every reform or revolution necessary to restore a federal government doing only a few things, but effectively and transparently, and nothing else. Will it all be done in the first 100 days? No. Has more already been done, or set up to be done, in the first 40+ days than I ever dreamed? Yep.
If we get four years of Trump then eight years of JD Vance or similar, we might have a chance.
Agree 100%. Trump has solved the immigration crisis admirably in short time. That alone makes his first two months highly successful. The tariff issue is textured. Trump is playing the long game, and the long game takes longer. He's using threats and conciliation according to how they are needed with countries such as Mexico, Canada and others. It's a very long card game, and we are only a few hands into it. The goal is to get better deals which are more fair for the USA. We know the USA has gotten the dirty end of the deal on tariffs for a long, long time. We have to get a better deal that treats our goods more fairly when we ship them to other countries. This is good for our production here and export to there. As for the stock market, you can't cut government spending without affecting employment in both the government sector and the private sector. But the longer term gains will show up in more sound spending in both sectors. The reality is in the private sector they're glad to be able to pull back on employment which meets DEI standards and does not bring quality work product. Those have been a dollar drain. Trump has earned the right to six solid months and making his moves before any judgments are made. We had a recession in the Biden presidency and they refused to call it what it was. The least they can do with Trump is not start calling very short term matters a recession seven weeks in.
I love games. I play a lot of games. I love to face opponents who will obsess over every setback and loss because it becomes easy to manipulate them into doing what I need them to to win. Like a chess opponent who gets obsessed with capturing my queen, they won't notice the other pieces moving into checkmate.
In this instance, the press plays the role of trying to get the populace to focus on every move without ever seeing the broader context. "Can you believe he gave up a pawn there? How stupid! He is clearly the worst President!" - without ever noticing that sacrificing the pawn opens up a route to victory.
And yeah, sometimes he will make mistakes too. We don't elect gods, we elect men. They remain mortal. The real question will always be how bad are the mistakes and can they be corrected? We ended up in this mess because Biden was elected and then for 4 years the press ran an obscuring campaign to avoid ever acknowledging he made any mistakes at all.
That's even assuming they are right about his mistakes in the first place. They call firing government employees a mistake. I call it "what I voted for."
That was excellent - it needed to be said out loud: we went from a path toward destruction to an effort to save our nation.
Just so, Uncle, just so.

And the Democrats are scorpions, every last one of them…
Wrong.
