This reminds me of the time I was before a federal judge in Puerto Rico when he brought me into chambers to berate me under a pretext about the length of my memorandum of law when in reality is was a veiled threat to try to have me withdraw my motion for sanctions. Because I insisted to be on the record, he begrudging granted my motion with the tiniest amount of sanctions. It took a year and tens of thousands of dollars to obtain the monetary amount sought through an appeal to the 1st Circuit in Boston. Some of these judges are gangsters. And I am retired to so the Bar can kiss my ....

It appears the judge is auditioning for the role of King George in the Declaration of Independence.

A logical argument can be made that the bond should be some multiple of $58,000,000,000

“In the next installment of this saga, we will look at the substantive overreach and failings in Engelmayer’s Order and how the Defendants and administration can effectively fight it (which will be for paid subscribers only, so you may want to sign up now!).”

You b*****d! This is the worst temptation since that oh so lovely girl invited me to her dorm after midnight! Just how can I afford so much good analysis from Substack?!!!

Seriously, if you pray, pray for her and her family. I was honorable to her. She became a mother and grandmother and died young of brain cancer last year.

We're living in a post-constitutional Country.

What's happening now is a continuation of the lawfare that's been waged for the last eight years. It's a coordinated effort to impose the Deep State's will on us, ensure the status quo remains, and kneecap Trump's Administration.

There are no mechanisms to effectively stop these abuses of judicial authority. In a sane world, SCOTUS as the overall manager of the federal judicial system would step in and bring these rogue judges to heel. Unfortunately, we don't live in a sane world. Neither SCOTUS nor Congress have the guts to stop this flagrant abuse.

It's frustrating as hell that, other than making furious comments on the internet, we ordinary people are powerless to change what these corrupt politicians in black robes are doing to us.

Be of good cheer. The lower judiciary are shameless and opportunistic.

Upon review of the Supremes those evildoers will be disciplined.

Is Letitia James's problems with falsified property deals got anything to do with this?

This is very informative. Thanks! As you say, you’ve provided us with ammo to discuss this now with other people.

The Constitution clearly defines the roles of Legislature, Executive and Judiciary.

That makes it clear how to discipline each branch if and when it overreaches.

the SOLE issue is mustering the will to discipline poaching.

Today, it is the progressives who transgress, and suffer the wrath of an abused electorate.

Whatever happened to the responsibility to mot obey an ‘illegal’/‘illegitimate’ order? If an appointed judge, an elected official, or anyone else oversteps the legal boundaries of either the law or their authority, why wouldn’t their orders not only be dismissed, but charges be filed against the culprit. I have wondered for years how we can have integrity in a legal system that essentially has no practical restraints on judges (regardless of their position) no matter how outlandish their rulings are.

I'm sorry, but how many hours elapsed between the electronic filing of the brief with the court sometime after 7:32 p.m. Friday night and the court's issuance of the TRO?

I did not have that information when I wrote the article. I have additional information now and am working on a supplemental article about it that I hope to post today. All I can say right now is that it is worse than we thought and than what has been reported.

Should be:

"...It’s a good THING I am retired!..."

Yes, I caught that earlier (with the help of a reader!) And fixed it. But the original message that went out did have that typo, as you point out.

Thanks for your diligence and Eagle Eye in pointing this out. I am a one man operation here and am not the world’s best proof-reader.

No problem - I am unfortunately afflicted with the complete inability to read past grammar or spelling errors, probably for sins I committed in an earlier lifetime ;)
