The frustrating part is that the premises behind the questions are fallacious. But in some cases the suggested possible answers are utterly incoherent. For example one answer is a question. "I have future plans to affirm my identity. What sex were you assigned at birth?" This seemingly is an opening gambit for some sort of hookup. (Actually I do have future plans to affirm my identity: A bottle of 8 year old single barrel rye whiskey, wagyu steak dinner, road trip in a new two seater BMW, and a 5 day trip in back country wilderness but then I digress.
I find this current obsession with the announcing and celebrating of one's sexual predilections and delusions to be quite beyond the bounds of what should be acceptable behavior. Culturally we have gone off the rails. While I am not a professional in the field, it seems to me that DSM-IV was a lot more correct in this regards, than was DSM-5.
I am the last of a dying breed, a self-employed family physician in a small town. As such no one is requiring me to bow to the transgender delusion.
Even so, it distinctly affects me. No busy family physician has the time/resources to review the relevant research even on any one topic important to his practice, let alone all of them. We rely on the nationally recognized panels of experts (e.g. 'JNC 8' for hypertension) for guidance on how to treat most conditions.
But if the experts have embraced a delusion, how am I to have confidence in their pronouncements?

Took my son (14 yrs old) to get his vaccinations updated, and yeah, there were two whole pages I had to fill out about his gender identity. They then demanded that they be able to interview him in private, and I really wasn't sure that I could trust them alone with my boy. I was basically caught off guard by it all, but next time I won't play along.
Jamie, I totally understand. We are so accustomed to deferring to doctors and other medical personnel that we don’t push back enough. I had an interesting experience today that is relevant. I had to go to the ER to get a fishhook removed that was embedded in my leg (don’t ask) + a tetanus shot. A nurse came in and said she had some questions “that we have to ask.” She started with, “Do you feel safe at home?” She was goi going to follow that with a bunch of other intrusive questions but I cut her off saying that I was just there to get a fishhook removed and wasn’t going to answer a bunch of irrelevant questions. She backed off and didn’t argue with me. I was polite but firm.
Later another nurse came in and said that “We have to ask you this” and then asked if I was male or female. I did not say a word but just gave her my best death”s head stare. She apologetically repeated “We have to ask that” and I just kept staring at her soundlessly,
Later when I told my wife about it we both agreed that they need to get enough polite but negative feedback that they will tell their bosses that this kind of stuff is upsetting patients.
Funny how our socialist leftist antagonists like to turn things around. They condemn as NAZIs those who oppose them. Do they have any idea what those letters stand for? Nation Socialist Workers Party , I recall. Are they then condemning themselves? As for suicides; those pushing trans actions, tell parents, “would you prefer a dead son or daughter vs a live trans son or daughter. Now statistics show the trans is more likely to be suicidal than noon trans. Maybe because of the lifelong need for surgeries and drug treatments and no real change in biological sex. No one can yet change the x and Y chromosomes. No matter how much they cut and paste, the trans is still biologically the same sex as they came out of the womb. Mental health treatment would be more important than all the drugs and surgeries. What those pushing the trans world are really doing is a transfer of wealth to pharma and medical practitioners and reducing future human populations. Kind of sounds like a WEF plan.
