President Trump has now been in office for just over two weeks. Anyone notice a difference yet?
On the one hand . . . .
On the one hand we had an insecure, would-be tough guy trying to imitate a Clint Eastwood character with a short, pithy threat — “Don’t.” Someone in the White House must have liked that because Biden latched on and kept repeating it to threaten a variety of actors.
To Iran:
Reporter: “Mr. President, what is your message to Iran in this moment?” Biden: “Don’t.”
To Vladimir Putin:
“Don’t. Don’t. Don’t.”
To everybody:
“Let me say again, to any country, any organization, anyone thinking of taking advantage of the situation, I have one word: ‘Don’t. Don’t.’”
And on the other . . . .
On the other hand, we now have a President already famous for keeping his promises.
“The message to ISIS and all others who would attack Americans is that “WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU!”
This morning I ordered precision Military air strikes on the Senior ISIS Attack Planner and other terrorists he recruited and led in Somalia. These killers, who we found hiding in caves, threatened the United States and our Allies. The strikes destroyed the caves they live in, and killed many terrorists without, in any way, harming civilians. Our Military has targeted this ISIS Attack Planner for years, but Biden and his cronies wouldn’t act quickly enough to get the job done. I did! The message to ISIS and all others who would attack Americans is that “WE WILL FIND YOU, AND WE WILL KILL YOU!”
I know that Trump never went through Army basic training, but he seems to have internalized “The Spirit of the Bayonet.”
According to [X] that post has over 147 million views. The word is getting out.
No more ‘business as usual’
After the change on January 20, the French aphorism, “Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose”1 no longer holds true, at least in U.S. politics. Things are not the same.
Vive la différence!
For the non-francophones: “The more things change the more they stay the same.”
How do Trump's people keep up with that man?
"...On the one hand we had an insecure, would-be tough guy trying to imitate a Clint Eastwood character with a short, pithy threat — “Don’t.” Someone in the White House liked it must have liked that because Biden latched on and kept repeating it to threaten a variety of actors...."
Should be:
"...On the one hand we had an insecure, would-be tough guy trying to imitate a Clint Eastwood character with a short, pithy threat — “Don’t.” Someone in the White House must have liked that because Biden latched on and kept repeating it to threaten a variety of actors...."
(removed the first 'liked it')
