Today's Democrat Party is in the business of trying to make the Republican Party the boogie man regarding race relations, even though it was Democrats who pushed slavery, who opposed blacks being made citizens, who opposed blacks being elected to congress, who created the KKK, who ran the entire Jim Crow operation, who fought the 1960s civil rights acts. THEY are the Plantation owners and slavemasters of today's America, overseeing their rundown, hopeless, degraded parts of major cities which have been run by Democrats for many decades. Wherever blacks in America are downtrodden, Democrats are running the show.

As I've said a couple of places now...

It's not that the slaves benefitted from slavery in America. But they sure as heck benefitted from being freed in America.

And, of course, this story (and the guidelines in Florida) helps to show the broad range of situations across the "peculiar institution." It certainly would help children to learn that most of life is not black and white morality plays - a critical thinking skill that too many adults do not display.
