Some Further Thoughts on the Attempted Assassination of President Trump, Including Some About What Was Behind it.
A start at connecting some dots.
As of this writing, we do not know the subjective motivations of the would-be presidential assassin. After a full investigation perhaps we will find out that he was just trying to impress Jodie Foster. In the meantime, consider a few data points with some questions and conclusions (in bold) that logically flow from those data points. Some of my conclusions are harsh but I think they are supported by the available evidence and logic.
The war on President Trump
1. Congressman Bennie Thompson, who was the titular chairman of Nancy Pelosi’s January 6 Select Committee that was actually run by Liz Cheney, introduced legislation that attempted to pull Trump’s Secret Service protection if he was put in Rikers Island or another prison by one of the ethically challenged New York judges. His bill had seven Democrat co-sponsors. Rikers Island is famous for being one of the worst and most dangerous prisons in the country. They wanted him to be killed.
2. The Secret Service comes under the umbrella of the Department of Homeland Security. DHS is headed by Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. Mayorkas has famously testified to Congress that our southern border was secure when we saw almost nightly reports of caravans with hundreds and even thousands phony political asylum seekers flooding across the border, essentially unimpeded. Mayorkas’ lies about national security were reinforced by the White House. It is reasonable to conclude that Mayorkas and the Administration have a different idea about security than do most of us.
3. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. repeatedly requested Secret Service security protection and Mayorkas nixed it. RFK was perceived as a threat to Biden’s reelection. It is reasonable to conclude that they did not care if he got killed, either.
4. As a former president and candidate, who has not yet been formally nominated, Trump was only getting limited Secret Service protection. His campaign reports that they repeatedly requested additional security, which Mayorkas reportedly refused to provide. They were making it easier for someone to kill him.
5. The reports I have seen so far Indicate that the Secret Service did not have sufficient assets available to safeguard the entire area, including the nearby building where the shooter was lying in plain view. This lack of assets relates back to #4 and the denial of additional protection.
6. If the Secret Service did not have sufficient manpower to put a person on (or at least watch) every rooftop, why did they not call on the local or state police to provide additional officers to do that? Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has some explaining to do.
7. People in the crowd saw the gunman going up to the roof with a rifle, repeatedly warned the police who did nothing. Civilians at the rally have said that they expressly told the police what they saw and kept pointing out the gunman to the Secret Service counter-snipers, but no one took notice or did anything. Where was the Secret Service while this was happening? Why were the police apparently indifferent to the reports of the gunmen? Did they not see what the civilians saw?
8. Democrats and their allies, including Joe Biden himself, have been publicly attacking and even expressing their desire for violence against Trump, including killing him, for a long time now. You probably have heard their war cry, “By any means necessary.” Victor Davis Hanson has detailed many of their attacks and physical threats here on “X”, which have been made by the New York Times, MSNBC, Steven Colbert, Robert DiNiro, Liz Cheney, Chuck Schumer, and others of their ilk. Just three days before the shooting I wrote about the New York Times columnist who said that he wanted someone to kill President Trump and then promised, “I’m gonna say it again.” See it here: “New York Times Columnist Promotes Political Murder.” They wanted him dead.
9. Joe Biden has led the charge to vilify “MAGA,” by which he means anyone who has supported Trump or his ideas. “"This MAGA threat is a threat to the brick and mortar of our democratic institutions." He has claimed that Trump’s role models are Hitler, Putin and Kim Jong. He and his administration have repeatedly slandered all his supporters who want simply “to make America great again” as Nazis. That was, in effect, a license to the anti-Trumpers to take care of him “by any means necessary.” Any claim from Biden now about how political violence is suddenly not acceptable is hypocritical BS.
10. I think that every soldier who is facing fire for the first time thinks, “How will I perform? Will I acquit myself with honor?” Trump showed the world how he reacts under fire. After being shot, he got on his feet and launched a figurative counter-attack, fist in the air and exhorting, “Fight! Fight! Fight!”
CNN’s Jamie Gangel took great exception to Trump’s response to his attempted assassination. In the first moments after he was shot, here is what she said:
After he was hit former President Trump got up and said, “Fight. Fight. Fight.” I think what we’re hearing from people is, “That’s not the message that we want to be sending right now. We want to tamp it down.”
Listen to her here.
And, scant minutes after Trump was hustled off the stage by his protective detail, who were these alleged “people” who supposedly were telling Gangel that they didn’t want to hear that fighting “message”? Were there any such people, or was Gangel talking to herself?
Their biggest fear
Jamie Gangel and CNN know that the image of a bloodied President Trump getting to his feet, pumping his fist in the air with an instinctive “Fight! Fight! Fight!” while the crowd responded with “USA! USA! USA!” will define this election. And that is their greatest fear.
Trump was shot by one of Gangel's viewers. Liberals are touting that the shooter was a registered Republican but Democrats in Pennsylvania have been registering as Republicans so they can vote Republican in the primary and throw a money wrench into the works. Both his parents are registered Democrats and he contributed to Vote Blue. His parents sought out CNN for an interview.
It says a lot about Trump's personality that his first instinct after getting shot wasn't to cower behind the Secret Service but he got up, raised his fist and said "fight!" instead.
From Kathy Griffin holding Trump’s bloody severed head, to a play in Central Park casting Trump as Caesar and having him assassinated, to an over the hill singer saying she wanted to blow up the White House, to the actor who asked for another John Wilkes Booth to step forward, to all the calls from Democrats great and small…this is EXACTLY what they said they want to happen.
Democrats act like the Bolsheviks their party has become. They openly talk about criminalizing conservative voices, re-education camps, jailing political dissenters, and eliminating those who won’t give in to them. Democrats have worked themselves into a frenzy of moral superiority and created a fantasy world for themselves where they’re like knights in shining armor and conservatives are evil dragons who must be slain.
I don’t want to hear their phony condemnations of political violence or, especially, their insincere well wishes for Trump’s recovery. Biden, Harris, Schumer, Waters, the MSM, late night talk show hosts, the Hollywood elites…they’re the ones responsible, they’re the ones whose over the top rhetoric caused it.
One can only hope normal people will finally take these Democrats at their word, be repulsed by them, and repudiate them this coming election.
Get mad, stay mad, and vote in November like your life depends on it - because it does.
Yes, it's probably a niche group not a bloc vote, but those of us who have been shot at always wonder how celebrity types would react under fire where we find out what you're made of, where we find out who you really are. Now, in the case of D. J. Trump we know.
Under fire, winged, facing the reaper eyeball to eyeball, (And I say this as an absolute, unalloyed compliment.) he reacted like a damned Rhodesian! Stand straight up, face the enemy, and snarl at them! I have never been a "Trump guy" but I am now. Donald will do to ride the river with.
