I'm proud of my time in the military 1968-1972. Virtually every veteran I know feels likewise. Standards were high, and both excellence and proper conduct were demanded. The Biden Clown Show is beyond abysmal.

This and lots of other problems are facing the US military. The fact that the majority of field-grade officers and generals are detached from what the situation is on the ground and that they’re more willing to make decisions in their own self-interest rather than for the boys who do the real work is endemic throughout the DoD.
That, and (like a lot of things) the military’s reaction to COVID has been a disaster for morale and mission readiness. I had several good friends who were damn good NCOs who where forced out because of the vaccine mandate. If the military ever does recover from the damage it’s done to itself, it’ll take years.
The Marine Corps isn't doing so well either; the current and the prospective Commandants are overseeing the destruction of Combined Arms by cutting infantry, cannon artillery battalions, Close Air Support aircraft and completely eliminating armor, engineer, and assault amphibian capabilities.
Those "leaders" don't see any problems at all with young ladies in combat infantry companies, or openly-serving gays in leadership positions with their infusion of sex into units and its undisputable corrosive effects on combat cohesion and trust.
Our entire armed forces will need a flush of its useless and excessively woke leadership to regain our ability to fight and win.

Unfortunately, the woke communists now control the GAE's military. It is doubtful anyone will turn that around anytime soon, and it is a mark of the decline of the empire. The next war against a peer competitor will see the GAE's military shredded.
Were the GAE stupid enough to send its military against Russia in Europe, that military would lose badly. Just see the GAE mercenaries who went to fight for Ukraine, and turned around and turned tail after being under a Russian artillery barrage. The GAE would not be fighting poor brown people, armed only with AK47s and grenade launchers.
