By the way, this whole chapter of current events reminds me of South Carolina's assertion of the doctrine of "nullification" during the period around 1830. That doctrine held that each state is sovereign and can nullify enforcement of selected federal laws within its borders. California's Democrat leadership is attempting to revive that doctrine, which came close to resulting in civil war during the Jackson administration.
Newsom is no different than any of the governors in the Southern states who tried to block federal integration laws. He refuses to obey federal immigration laws and he’s done his best to interfere with their enforcement. He acts like California is its own sovereign state.
This started when the Federal government sat on its hands and let states and cities declare themselves “sanctuaries”, who then vowed to not obey US immigration laws and obstructed their enforcement. By shielding illegal aliens from ICE these "sanctuary" entities are in direct violation of 8 USC 1324. It's beyond belief that the federal government, even now, hasn't acted to defend the concept of the supremacy of federal laws.
States and cities don’t get to conjure up their own immigration policies. Any state or city that impedes Federal agents from enforcing our laws, and who encourage people to disobey the law or obstruct their enforcement ought to be declared to be in a state of rebellion against the United States. Newsom and Bass - and politicians like them - are engaged in real sedition and rebellion. Perhaps they've forgotten that state nullification of federal law didn't work out so well in 1861.
Liberals love to accuse their political opponents of sedition, or of being fascists or traitors…except when they’re the ones actually engaging in it. Then it’s “patriotic protest.”
I believe whatever force is necessary to capture, arrest, and prosecute in federal court the perps should be used. Any vehicle that breaks through should be considered potentially a bomb and dealt with as such by removing the threat permanently, along with those in it. Arrest the people behind the theatrics and the violence. Perp walks for all. Military courts if possible. First they organized an invasion by millions. Now they're fomenting rebellion. Treat them as the criminals and traitors they are. No mercy. Most Americans have had it with this leftist theater.
The recent comments by the president of Mexico confirm that they are promoting and supporting these riots. You are correct -- we have been contending that the flood across our open border is an invasion and seeing here comments + all the Mexican flags being waved, confirms the truth of that.
“to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States”
Seems pretty open and shut to me, as far as the rioters are concerned. And to my mind, anyone present at the riot is a rioter - no need to show that this person threw that brick, etc.
Now, the state officials have not “by force” opposed or hindered, so I don’t think they have crossed the line yet. Although they may well have crossed the line under various Reconstruction-era statutes that allow direct federal action against state governments.
I would disagree somewhat with your last point re state officials. The nature of a conspiracy statute is that all the conspirators don't have to be using the "force." If a conspirator conspires by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States" then the conspiracy to accomplish that end by force is sufficient. Every actor does not have to engage in force to be criminally liable.
For a rough comparison, think of a Mafia don who suggests to one of his soldiers that it would be nice in Guido went for a swim with the fishes. All he did was talk, but his speech was directed toward accomplishing a murder. So even though the don did not personally engage in force or murder, he is still criminally liable for conspiracy to murder.
So, many of these state officials better repent and reel it back in, quickly.
The Democratic Party has 100% bought into replacement theory. That's what this is all about. And as we are seeing, they are prepared to go to war over it. Right now, they can't really prosecute a war as such; they don't have the troops or the armaments or the command structure. But I'm sure China would be happy to arm, equip and train them. At some point, we have to think about putting a stop to this before it reaches that point.
If you take a close look at the drug cartels you might change your mind. They are not peers of the U.S. when it comes to preparing to go to war, but they have troops, heavy armaments and command structure.
Absolutely correct, and exquisitely explained. The lawlessness and anomie encouraged by the Democrat leadership in California is nothing short of seditious conspiracy. In a perfect world, those leaders would be convicted and spend years in federal confinement. However, in our imperfect world, those leaders will be aided and abetted by their fellow Democrats, most of the media, and a sadly large part of academia. I'll be satisfied if this story, AS YOU TELL IT, becomes the accepted truth for our grandchildren and future generations of Americans.

Difficult to argue with that, my friend.

Well said.

Maybe the Marines will shoot a few rioters who carry the mex flag. That might slow down the rioters a bit. Heltau
